Conversational week

The purpose of the activity is the interaction and contextualization of English at Domingo Savio School, reinforcing listening and speaking skills through forums or conferences given by 10th and 11th grade students to the educational community.

Therefore, during the week of August 17 to 20, the community participated in the Conversational Week, ensuring compliance with biosafety protocols. In addition, some parameters were carried out:

• Sanitize materials before entering the room (Face-to-face Conference).
• Both students and teachers must comply with the 3 golden rules of the School, maintain a distance of at least one and a half meters from each other, whether they are sitting or standing, use masks, and constantly disinfect themselves.
• Students will ask their questions in turn, keeping the minimum distance between them, in addition the speakers will take turns for the questions.

Organization: For the activity, a schedule of lectures given by the students was established. Each group had only 2 students to work on the grades. English Teachers: Marcela Polanco and Angélica Cetina prepared in advance the students of the tenth and eleventh grade who gave their interactive speeches to preschool and elementary grades. Students of all grades showed interest in participating in each activity, thus improving the communication skills.

On the other hand, teachers who met the students at that time accompanied the conference. This was carried out only for one hour a day during the week where topics that were of interest to the students were addressed. Similarly, students from sixth to eleven, had lectures with licensed professionals in the speaking of a foreign language (English) and thus, we were able to reinforce their knowledge and skills.
